چکیده
Hexavalent chromium (Cr (VI)), an anthropogenic heavy metal pollutant, is harmful to human beings, due its carcinogenicity. In this study, a tourmaline–biochar composite (TMBC) was synthesized remove Cr (VI) from aqueous solution. The effects of different ratios (TM:BC) and pyrolysis temperatures on TMBC adsorption performance were compared. samples characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) scanning electron microscope–energy-dispersive spectrometry (SEM-EDS). kinetics thermodynamics analyzed investigate the sorption mechanism. results showed that proper temperature 650 °C, ratio TM:BC 1:3. SEM TM well attached BC which assisted tourmaline dispersion. fitted pseudo-second-order model, indicating related chemical absorption. Langmuir isotherms suggested monolayer between TMBC, maximum capacity for 43.64 mg/g, more than twice amount pristine (17.84 mg/g). automatic polarization water caused unique property TMBC. Therefore, TMBCs can be used as economic adsorbent in remediation pollution.

Background: The removal of toxic metals from sewage and wastewaters is one of the most important concerns in the twenty first century. The removal of poisonous Cr(VI) from aqueous solution by different low-cost available nanoporous adsorbents was investigated in the present study. Methods: Fumed silica, bentonite (BN), hydrotalcite (HT), MCM-41, Na-Y, mordenite (MOR) and SAPO-34 were ...
متن کاملOptimization of solvothermally synthesized ZIF-67 metal organic framework and its application for Cr(VI) adsorption from aqueous solution
In this study, ZIF-67 was synthesized through solvothermal method to remove Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solution. To improve the structural properties of ZIF-67 and its adsorption capacity, optimization of the synthesis conditions was carried out based on maximum Cr(VI) uptake. From experiments, the optimum condition was revealed as solvent: metal ion molar ratio of 4.6:1, ligand: metal ion molar ...
